Don Kilpatrick has been involved in Oklahoma state government for over 30 years. While engaged in private law practice he served three terms in the Oklahoma House of Representatives and two terms in the Oklahoma State Senate. While in the House, Mr. Kilpatrick chaired the powerful Commerce, Industry & Labor Committee. Likewise, in the Senate, he chaired the Business & Labor Committee and also served as Vice-Chairman of the Appropriations & Budget Committee.
After choosing not to seek re-election, Mr. Kilpatrick was appointed to the Oklahoma Tax Commission by former Governor George Nigh. He was subsequently reappointed by three succeeding governors, two Republican and one Democrat. He served as the Secretary of the Oklahoma Tax Commission for 18 years, leaving the Commission in early 2003 to return to the private practice of law with Kilpatrick Consulting, Inc., a government affairs consulting firm. In addition to his role with Fried, Kilpatrick & Guinn, Mr. Kilpatrick serves as Chairman of the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System.
Mr. Kilpatrick received a Juris Doctorate degree from Oklahoma City University. He is admitted to practice law in all Oklahoma state courts and the United States Court for the Western District of Oklahoma.
